Casual Discussions of Huangdi Neijing by Dao Yingzi | Episode 020

In the previous chapter, based on the dimensional force network and twin spiral filament system, we interpreted how external pathogenic factors including cold, summer-heat, dampness and miscellaneous seasonal qi disturb the internal and external spirals of the human body, causing filament stagnation and yang qi depletion. External pathogens are merely outside interference. The root cause that continuously pulls filaments inward to consolidate and traps the human force network in closed involution lies in internal losses triggered by sentiment, overthinking, diet and daily routines. Centering on the original text of Treatise on the Communication of Vitality with Heaven, this chapter adopts the complete framework of Dimensional Force Network Theory: Human Body System to break down how three types of internal injuries — excessive toil, violent rage and improper diet and living habits — destroy the original unobstructed state of stretching filaments and cut off the resonance channel between human beings and the universal invisible force network.
Preface Note: I am not a licensed medical practitioner. This article abandons standardized formulas of traditional Chinese medicine, and all deductions are built on the underlying logic of filaments, internal-external twin spirals and the three-layer human force network. The content only represents personal insights gained from practical cultivation. Different interpretations hold unique value, so we may seek common ground while reserving differences without disputes. No supernatural far-fetched analogies are included; all elaboration revolves around the operation laws of subtle structures.
Original Text of This Chapter
Yang qi overextends amid persistent vexation and toil, leading to exhaustion of essence. Such accumulated damage lingers until summer, triggering syncope from scorching depletion. Vision blurs to blindness, hearing dulls to deafness, vital qi surges like a breached dike, rushing forth without restraint.
When violent rage strikes, the harmony between form and qi ruptures, blood surges and stagnates in the upper body, inducing sudden syncope. Tendons sustain damage, slackening and losing control over limbs. Unbalanced sweating on one side of the body may eventually lead to hemiplegia.
Sweating while exposed to dampness breeds miliaria and small sores. Long-term overconsumption of rich, fatty foods generates severe boils, as the body becomes as vulnerable as an empty vessel to pathogenic invasion. Sweating after labor and then catching wind brings cold qi to clog pores, forming blackheads; prolonged stagnation further develops into acne.
I. Vitality Depletion from Overtoil: Hyperactive External Spiral and Continuous Outward Consolidation of Filaments
According to the twin spiral transformation theory, the human body maintains a steady state when the outward stretching spiral and inward converging spiral operate in balance, with all bodily filaments loose and unobstructed, enabling smooth resonance between the human force network and the universal cosmic force network — the stable state we call "communion with spiritual clarity". Endless overthinking and round-the-clock labor artificially amplify the ascending power of the external spiral, while the inward converging spiral weakens long-term. Filaments only disperse outward without inward recycling.
The phrase "yang qi overextends amid persistent vexation and toil, leading to exhaustion of essence" corresponds to filament-level depletion: all human essence circulates through filaments. Unilateral overexpansion of the external spiral drives essence to dissipate outward continuously along superficial filaments, gradually muddying filament texture and piling up stagnant residues. When summer arrives, the universal summer-heat qi also stretches outward, superimposing external tension on the body’s unilateral depletion. Dual overload of internal and external tension strips the whole-body filaments of their converging buffer structure, triggering syncope from scorching depletion.
From the perspective of the three-layer human force network, superficial protective filaments remain constantly open, middle visceral filaments lack cyclic power for inward absorption, and deep mental filaments drain completely. The five sense organs rely on nourishment from subtle filaments; filament depletion leads to blurred sight and blocked auditory orifices. Unrestrained whole-body filaments let essence surge out of control, exactly matching the description: "Vision blurs to blindness, hearing dulls to deafness, vital qi surges like a breached dike, rushing forth without restraint."
In line with the life cycle evolution law, the age of 25 marks a spiral inflection point where the outward spiral naturally declines. Additional internal consumption from persistent overtoil drastically accelerates filament turbidity and consolidation, prematurely entering the aging stage dominated by universal inward rotation and permanently blocking the force network channel connecting humans to pure cosmic qi.
II. Collapsed Spirals from Violent Rage: Instant Rupture and Unilateral Filament Stagnation & Consolidation
While overtoil causes slow, sustained filament loss, violent rage instantly tears the balanced structure of the entire human force network. In a calm state, whole-body filaments circulate evenly up and down. Sudden fury instantly crushes the converging power of the internal spiral, forcing all blood and qi filaments to flip upward and stagnate unilaterally, completely cutting off upward and downward circulation channels — the pathogenesis of sudden syncope described as "the harmony between form and qi ruptures, blood surges and stagnates in the upper body".
The liver governs tendons, and fascia-wrapped filaments suffer severe uneven force distribution: some filaments stretch slack while others twist and contract tightly, depriving limbs of uniform nourishment and flexible movement. Long-term unilateral filament blockage disrupts the opening and closing of the superficial force network, causing unbalanced sweating on one side. Years later, deep filament lumps solidify, gradually progressing to hemiplegia.
Combined with the theory of wandering mental filaments, intense emotions directly pull subtle mental filaments, creating damaged gaps in the deep human force network where turbid foreign energy invades. The balance of internal and external twin spirals collapses all at once. Frequent anger triggers repeated unilateral filament stagnation, accelerating inward sinking and nesting, gradually advancing toward the downward evolutionary path marked by degenerated advanced perception functions.
Yang qi corresponds to the superficial protective filaments of the human body, forming the primary barrier isolating external turbid substances. Internal damage from overtoil and rage already depletes yang qi and loosens superficial filaments. Three daily behaviors allow cold-dampness and dietary turbidity to invade the force network, further worsening filament tangling and consolidation:
Sweating amid dampness: Superficial filament pores fully open after labor, damp turbidity invades subcutaneous filaments, internal heat cannot disperse outward via the stretching external spiral, and shallow filament stagnation generates miliaria and small rashes.
Long-term consumption of rich, greasy food: Heavy turbid substances continuously sink to wrap visceral filaments, clogging the middle-layer force network and forming deep lumps that trigger boils. At this stage, the human force network is riddled with gaps like an empty vessel, where pathogenic factors easily accumulate and linger.
Catching wind while sweating after labor: Cold qi invades shallow meridians through open filament pores, initially forming mild filament tangling known as blackheads; prolonged stagnation and lump formation further develop into acne.
The root of these superficial ailments does not lie in external cold-dampness or greasy food, but in internal sentiment and overthinking that first deplete yang qi and damage the superficial force network. Without intact filament protection, turbid substances gain space to linger and consolidate. Superimposed internal and external damage strengthens the dominance of the inward converging spiral, nesting filaments layer upon layer and accelerating the two ultimate downward evolutionary outcomes: structural collapse and instinct solidification.
IV. Integrated Logical Linkage of Chapter 19, Chapter 20 and the Entire Human Body System
Chapter 19 focuses on four external disturbances — cold, summer-heat, dampness and miscellaneous seasonal qi — that pull internal and external twin spirals out of balance from outside, triggering filament stagnation and yang qi overdraft. This chapter centers on three internal losses stemming from mental states and living habits: overtoil, rage, improper diet and daily routines, which directly tear the balanced structure of the human force network from within and speed up filament turbidity and consolidation.
The complete dimensional force network human body system draws a clear conclusion: the core of long-term life ascension and continuous resonance with heaven and earth lies in maintaining balanced operation of internal and external spirals, keeping all bodily filaments loose and unobstructed long-term, and preserving the integrity of the three-layer human force network.
Both external and internal consumption break the bidirectional cycle of stretching and convergence, forcing filaments to either disperse unilaterally outward or stagnate on one side. The inward spiral gradually takes dominance, consolidating filaments into heavy layers, isolating the human force network from the universal invisible force network, cutting off access to pure cosmic essence, and resulting in chaotic mental activity and lingering physical ailments.
Based on the rotational repair theory, three tiers of practical conditioning methods are proposed:
First, restrain endless overthinking and labor to avoid hyperactivity of the external spiral, reserving space for filaments to converge and circulate inward and preventing complete exhaustion of essence.
Second, calm irritable emotions to avoid instant rupture of balanced filament circulation and unilateral lumping of blood and qi.
Third, avoid cold and dampness while sweating, maintain a light diet, and protect superficial protective filaments to reduce invasion and stagnation of external turbid substances.
Abiding by these three principles long-term keeps all filaments clear and loose, fosters balanced coexistence of internal and external spirals, sustains a complete and unobstructed human force network, and enables lasting communion with spiritual clarity aligned with the constant cyclic laws of heaven and earth.
Conclusion
Built on the self-consistent theoretical system of filaments, twin spirals and the three-layer human force network, this chapter moves beyond superficial symptom interpretation in traditional Chinese medicine, dissecting the full process of internal injury to yang qi from the underlying logic of subtle structural operation and life topological evolution, and distinguishing two life trajectories: outward stretching ascension and inward consolidation degeneration.
